• Reitzi Zone (Avisianum Subzone). "Knollenkalke." Guide event for Anisian-Ladinian boundary is undecided - proposals include the base of the Curionii Zone, base of Avisianum Subzone (Reitzi Zone), and base of Reitzi Zone. These collections use the base of the Reitzi Zone as the A-L boundary.

Environment/lithology: basinal (); bioturbated, concretionary, gray, cherty/siliceous lime mudstone

• Grey-weathering nodular limestone beds have characteristic undulating and knobby surfaces spaced from cm to dm apart, and consist mainly of filament- and radiolarian-microsparites (mudstone-wackestone), often strongly bioturbated. Silicification may be diffuse or nodular. Often mixed with fine ash- and crystal-tuffs.
