• Fossiliferous layers are of fresh water origin and are allochthonous, apparently deposited by streams in delta-like, detritic sediments along the shore of a lake.

Collected by Henri Fayol in 1880-1890; reposited in the MNHN

• Collected by Fayol (mining engineer and later director at Compagnie de Commentry-Fourchambeau-Decazeville) collected during his early study on the stratigraphy and sediments of the Commentry coal basin. All insects are at the Institute de Paleontologie in the Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle, Paris.
